Performance management is becoming increasingly scientific. Yet, while top performing western companies largely embrace performance management to the point of leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, sub-Saharan African companies lag behind in the notion of using KPIs. As such, this article aims to explain why KPIs should be taken seriously through business case illustrations.
